Limit Break

Cait Sith is one robot-n-toy duo you don't want to get riled up.

Cait Sith's limit breaks—Dice and Slots—are reminiscent of casino games. On a surface level, this is probably due to Cait Sith's connection to the Gold Saucer. Digging a little deeper, we know that Cait Sith is a character who exemplifies the paired ideas of risk and chance; his limit breaks reflecting this is only natural.

Cait Sith has two main limit breaks, unlike the standard four for every other character. Following this, Cait Sith has no final limit break. One possible reason for this is Cait Sith's lack of uniqueness; that is, there's more than one copy of Cait Sith (namely Cait Sith no.1 and Cait Sith no.2) which conflicts with there only being one final limit break per person. Another reason could be the fact that he's a robot (certainly Reeve is real enough, but he's not the one physically fighting—Cait Sith is).

Dice

Level 1 Limit Break   Initially available

Cait Sith rolls out two dice, and the sum of the numbers rolled times by 100 is the total damage inflicted on a single enemy. If the numbers rolled are identical on two dice, the damage is doubled; if identical on three, the damage is tripled; etc. Cait Sith rolls out a max of six dice.

Slots

Level 2 Limit Break   Received after Cait Sith kills 40 enemies
Slots appear, similar to that of Tifa's Limit Break. Different things happen according to what slots that are selected:

0 Combo ~ Toybox
A random toy will appear from a toy box and attack a single enemy.

3 Stars ~ Mog Dance
A cute, lil' mog appears, restoring the entire party.

3 Bars ~ Summon
A random summon is cast using no MP from the summon materia you have.

3 Crowns ~ Toy Soldier
A few miniature soldiers appear and attack the foe.

3 Mogs ~ Transformation
Cait Sith combines stats with the other characters in the party and grows super large. He also receives all AP and EXP at the end of the battle.

3 Hearts ~ Lucky Girl
The party's attack% is raised to max (255%), and damage is doubled until the battle ends.

2 Cait Sith, 1 Bar ~ Death To All
Kills everyone in your party.

3 Cait Sith ~ Game Over
Kills the entire enemy party, whether it be a regular enemy or even a boss.
